The Electric Ballroom approached us with a brief for their pop night Shake, which had to show that it was a feel-good cheesy pop night to anyone who had never heard of it before, pique people’s interest within first glance as well as inform quickly in the form of a flyer to be handed out in the busy street outside Camden Town station.
We wanted to create something that was bright, unapologetic and good enough to lick, so playing on the name of the night, got a couple of freakshakes. A few textures and neon pinks and blues later we had a poster inspired by Tokyo’s Kawaii Monster Cafe and classic summer party nights.
